Hartley Rogers

Hartley Rogers is the Chairman and a major shareholder of Hamilton Lane and is one of the foremost leaders in the private equity space. Having led a buyout of the firm in 2003, he and his colleagues built Hamilton Lane into the largest private markets asset management firm globally.  With 23 offices and 600 staff worldwide, Hamilton Lane oversees over $850 billion in assets and invests over $40 billion annually into the private markets.  The firm issued an initial public offering (IPO) in 2017 becoming one of the asset management industry’s most noted public participants.

A child of university professors, Hartley is deeply passionate about education, in both the private markets and in academia.  Hartley has advocated for access and inclusivity. He’s aligned with organizations, including Harvard and the Institute of International Education, to further this vision.
